Facebook Review: Linda Powell. stayed March 2017

My husband stayed there last night for one night, as we were going to Brit Floyd Concert. The hotel is clean, the room had everything you need. The staff could not do enough for you. The breakfast comprised of everything you could wish for, cereals, fruit, yogurt’s, English fry up and as much as you could eat. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was large. Very satisfied with our stay and will definitely be going again. Thank you

Just returned from another wonderful stay at the Ilfracombe House where Bertie and all the family continue to work so hard to make every visit special.
Keep up the good work and we will see you in October.
Very best wishes Pam & Mike, March 2017

Arrived here today (09/12/16)  for overnight stay. Upon arrival the hotel has mistakenly booked us in for the following night. However, we were asked if we didn’t mind having an apartment instead for the same price.

It’s basically a flat with lounge kitchen bathroom and 2 bedrooms. A little apprehensive at first BUT it was great. And we were only charged the same rate as a normal room. So happy we have actually booked the apartment for next year for a long weekend!!!! The room for the kids has a tv and DVD player so they will be happy with that. The welcome from the staff was great. She was so apologetic for the Booking error. Very friendly indeed. A nice bar with very reasonable prices for a hotel. Will comment on breakfast tomorrow suffice to say at the moment very happy with our stay

“Very close to all amenities, the town for shopping, and for a stroll down to the mile long amazing pier”

We had room 7 at the top of the stairs, did wonder whether it would be a bit noisy, but needed have worried. The shower and bathroom was spacious and extremely clean.

The owners are wonderfully helpfully people, and they have owned it for many years. And the way they look after you, will be there for many more, as I’m sure I don’t speak for myself, for anyone returning to Southend-on sea would defiantly re-stay. Breakfast kept us going all day.. Superb x

Room Tip: They look after all guests. If the room wasn’t to your liking they would move you

Set in a nice quiet area. Has parking facilities. Staff very very friendly.

Decor and furniture bit dated but not a problem. Breakfast very good and there is a bar. You can easily walk into Southend; no taxis needed.

I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Ilfracombe House Hotel in Southend only because of a mix up at a hotel we were due to stay at. how lucky we were the ilfracombe is a lovely hotel, very clean and the staff were brilliant especially the young lady who greeted us on our arrival she was so helpful and polite. Our room was excellent and breakfast was delicious. We do stay at Southend quite a lot and in the ilfracombe we have found a place that we will always use. So a big thank you to everyone at ilfracombe and will definitely see you soon

Brilliant food, nice bar and staff are polite and friendly.
Located in excellent area for theatre and just far enough away from amusements so as not to have lots of noise going on.

We were made to feel welcome as soon as we had arrived. Set a stones throw from the beach but at the quieter end of the promenade, this hotel is perfect if you require a good nights sleep. The owners are really accomodating and go out of there way to make sure that your stay is as pleasant as possible. Breakfast is included with the room. A hidden gem.
