Birthday weekend stay in March. I stayed with my partner & 3mnts old kid here. We arrived early so room was not ready but reception did best to accomodate us in 30min. Manager Bertie is very polite and helpfull, we couldn’t fit our baby buggy in to breakfast room so he sit us in the lounge where they usually serve dinner. Manager & assistant serves breakfast themself so you get good attention .
I got an upgrade to a Delux room (Nr 3) which was really spacious, nice front facing room. In the lounge you do have small bar so many residents come for a drink in the evening. Nice food served for a dinner for reasonable price & good portion. Hotel is 10 min away from the train station 7 city centre, 20min from Adventure island & pier.
At reception you can get half price ticket for Adventure island which i did & had a lot of fun. Bertie & team did a great job, it’s small home away from home. I work in a hotel in a small boutique hotel in london so can tell you that i will be back at this place on my next visit. Thank you to all staff and Bertie. See you soon

It was a great week of the West End dance show “Dance Til Dawn” at the Cliffs Pavilion Southend 16-21st March and it was a great delight having with us for the whole week the Star Dancer of the BBC’s “Strictly Come Dancing”  – Vincent Simone.

The staff at this hotel are exceptionally friendly and welcoming.Our room was spacious and very clean and it was lovely to have a fridge in there for medications( and beer!).We had an evening meal in the dining room – I had lamb shank and my husband had a steak and both meals were cooked to perfection and there was a lot of it.After a good nights sleep in our quiet comfy room we had a great breakfast- good choice of hot and cold food.The hotel is in a perfection location if your trip includes a visit to The Cliffs theatre which ours did.We will stay at this hotel again.

– Slightly outdated decor.

+ We paid £84 for a ‘compact’ double and were worried that the room may be cramped but it was still a nice size. Very helpful and friendly staff. We went for Valentines day and there were even some roses left on the bed! Location is ideal for those wanting to be close to the sea. ALENA,

+ We were going to book at one of the larger hotels but as this hotel was the same price and included breakfast we decided to choose the Ifracombe. We are so glad we did as the staff couldn’t have been more helpful; nothing was too much trouble and as we were in Southend for a funeral it was really appreciated. We had an evening meal which was excellent and breakfast was plentiful and very tasty.

We returned to the Ilfracombe again after a break of 2 years and stayed in a self-catering apartment.

#the Roman style# As usual the service was very friendly and accommodating and the appt. was clean and spacious. There are TVs in all rooms now, so our daughter was delighted.

I can recommend this as a very reasonable option to families who prefer to cater themselves and want the privacy and space of their own apartment. The location is great and the staff too. This has become our home from home when visiting the UK.

Room Tip: Top floor appartment is the best if self-catering.
